Ads During LOST Finale will Cost $900K

Rather than plagiarize or re-write the original post, check out this story on about the cost of advertising during the LOST finale.

Given that the series finale is easily one of the biggest TV events this year, I don’t think that the expensive price tag is all that ridiculous.  Do you think the ads are worth it? Share your thoughts in the comments section below!

  1. I think that since the finale is most likely going to get 15-18 million viewers MAX. Then NO. The current season averages around 10 million per episode, but I could be wrong the finale could be a major event and plus I am sure all those who use DVR and watch shows online will tune in for this one, but even then that is like 2 million, then add another 2 million for those who just want to see the end of a show and you have 14 million. The question is this. Is paying 900K for an ad to show to 14 million people worth it?

  2. You make some good points. Given the viewership and known mark-up, ads don’t seem to be selling well.

I heard yesterday that ad sales for the show had only hit about 20%. It looks like they may have to lower the price to entice further advertisers.
